Eli Creations Flutes, maker of Native American Woodlands style flutes, is owned and operated by Dennis Eli Pierce, a non-enrolled Cherokee descendant, born and raised on the Olympic peninsula in Washington state. I am known as Dennis and Eli. My father was a flute maker and before he passed, he asked me to continue the culture of flute making. I believe being a flute maker is a calling and I thank the Creator for bestowing the gift to me or I would not be able to fulfill my father's wishes.
The flute is my medicine. It helps keep my blood pressure down and grounds me to mother earth.
I make the double chamber Native American Woodlands style flutes to honor my Cherokee heritage and the artistry of the Woodlands tribes. The Woodlands style flute has the nest (slot where the air flows from one chamber to the other) on the flute and the Plains style has the nest in the totem. I find it convenient if you were to lose the lacing or totem, you can use any flat surface item and a shoestring to continue using your flute...very important in the woods or on the beach.
